sleepy vibes and rainy days

For the past two weeks, my academic life felt invisible- had only one exam, lots of classes got suspended, no home works and lots and lots of movie watching (this truly proves the absence of my academic life)! Everything just felt so…chill. Cinemalaya at ccp was pure joy- besides being an after-class adventure, we also got to meet new people and watch a few films for free! (of course, in return, we had to stay at our org’s booth during our shifts)
anyway, directly after the festival ended at CCP was it’s transfer to UP. This event is handled by our org HI UP CINEASTES STUDIO. The screenings started last tuesday and will end on friday this week. Since tuesday, most of us have been busy because of this event ORRRR.  Luckily, my invisible acad life remained invisible so, so far, I haven’t missed any screening day yet. Screenings start again tomorrow so if you’re interested, here’s the link of CINEMALAYA GOES UP’s EVENT PAGE.
Back to what my post is supposed to be about hahaha. Sleepy vibes and rainy days- I get this a lot and it sucks that sleepy vibes usually lead me to actual sleeping/dozing off. This week, a friend noticed me not moving during class. She thought I was just seriously listening to the prof but in reality, I accidentally dozed off! As much as I wanted to stay awake,  I couldn’t do anything to stop my body from drifting away. Dozing off in class is not a new thing to me. As far as I remember, I had this habit since highschool and I swear, you have no idea how hardcore some of my dozing off in classes have become. Through experience, I have realized that my dozing-off in classes usually occur in rainy days- it doesn’t really matter how long i’ve slept the night before (be it 8 or even 10 hours), as long as it’s rainy outside, I always feel like sleeping.
My class was at 9am so I set my alarm to 8am (i live nearrr). Since it was rainy and rainy=sleepy vibes, I ignored the sound of my alarm clock and decided to extend my sleep. Finally I woke up at 9am and went straight to school to catch my cinematography class. I’m glad that I went to school (proud of myself for resisting the temptation to cut) because if I didn’t, I would have missed a lot of important lessons needed for our future film productions…LIKE ZE USE OF LIGHTMETERS! Light meters were introduced to us way back in our film110 classes and even in film112 but it is only now in cinematography class that I’m feeling the need for it to be used. Back then, even though I knew how these cute-toy-like things were used,I chose not to use them because I was too lazy to operate it (part of it is that I liked relying on my light meter-ing instincts). But now, thanks to sir Nap, I olzo want to have me own light meter! specifically the Sekonic L-308S *see photo below*
