Second post for my a-blog-a-day project! 

I came home at almost 3am yesterday because a few friends and I decided to chill at this small eatery in maginahawa after cinemalaya@UP. Anyway, since yesterday was quite eventful ( organized bazaar plans, watched two films at UP, moonleaf and sinangag station dinner), I imagined myself going straight to bed when I got home from our lovely 3 hour long dinner. Of course when I got home, first thing I did was to check my torrent downloads (an essential part of my daily routine).  Since all my downloads were done and since I was also tired and sleepy, I just decided to just check my mail and go straight to bed.

BUT,we all know how tempting surfing the internet is! because of it, I have yet again lost my consciousness of time.  I remember being very sleepy when I was checking my mail but then when I started googling random stuff, I felt very alive ala Bradley Copper in Limitless. Next thing I knew was seeing my father getting ready for work! I slept at around 7am already which was a bit awkward since the sun was shining brightly outside. I woke up at 1pm though which makes it ok because I got myself a good 6 hours of sleep. 

Anyway, so I woke up, took a bath and had lunch. Mama told me that we were going to lolo’s place to visit my litol cousin. 

What did we do at Lolo’s house? The picture above explains it all! Today was one of the happy I-love-may family days we had dinner together, laughed so much and like what the photo suggests, we took advantage of the webcam! 

BYE! that’s all! 

             Just a few days ago, I stumbled upon my now- defunct multiply account and realized how much of a blog-person I was  in high school. It’s funny, you know, the way  how I wrote my blogs-sarcastic and and FULL of gibberish.I don’t remember if the sarcasm was intended but my past blogposts (at least,that’s how I felt when I read them) were very annoying/disturbing/basta nakakaasar. Read THIS to understand what I am trying to say.

I never had the intention of being funny when it came to writing blogposts. All my past blogs were pure brainpoop- whatever appeared on my brain, I wrote down(including side comments, and sometimes off-topic/irele notes). At that time, I didn’t care how I wrote my blogs (recurring thought: Why should I?) but now that I’m re-reading my posts/rants from 4 years ago, anek anek! reading ‘em blogposts are making me laugh so hard ( “LOL” in ym world) right now. The jeje-ish language is forgivable but the content, please, I blogged about the smallest things from hating groupworks to narrating phone calls. Honestly, it’s funny when I think about how much time I’ve spent on posting everything I had on my blog! Funny-ness aside, all those posts/my multiply as a whole are concrete evidence of what kind of life I’ve had as a highschooler in SHS! 

Imagine reading detailed accounts of certain days in your life four years ago. Masaya pero creepy!  Nostalgia crept upon me when I read my posts about  waiting for the sun rise before sleeping, 3 day long movie marathons, guitar lessons at yamaha, rants after exams and lots of random adventures I had in high school.Strange as it sounds but it made me miss my highschool self (It’s not that I’m any different now, it’s just that I miss being so carefree)

 ANYWAY, my point is, I NEED TO BLOG AGAIN! Besides keeping track of my life, I’d like to have something to look back to when I’m older, probably when I have kids or even grandchildren (if wordpress ceases to exist) . This would also help me remember

The latter parts of this blog post would make me and my friend look like total losers but who cares, nobody is probably going to read this anyway.

March 2009- my friend and I went to our very first “the bloomfields” gig which was held in Mall of Asia. After that first gig, we just fell in love with the band and their music. This is why after watching that gig, we decided to watch their other gigs as well. A few weeks later, we were already watching their weekly regular gigs at eastwood on school days. Yes, you heard it right, we were just a few months from graduating in high school but we were at eastwood every wednesday from 9pm to 1am.Since my friend and I were blinded by the wonderful sound of the band and their good looking bassist, we didn’t notice that it was sort of affecting our lives already. I mean, we spent at least 250 each everytime we went to their gigs (oh yes, I used my savings), it was the first time where both of us got introduced to semi-regular drinking (not, anymore though) and most of all, it confused our focus on our academic life  during our last days in high school. I know it sound bad and all but then again, we were blinded remember? hahaha.

I think that our situation wouldn’t be like that if it wasn’t for The bloomfield’s lead singer, who is also a lasallian, Jay Jay. During me and my friend’s visist during the second time we watched the regular gig, for some odd reason, JJ asked us if we could accompany him for dinner. Being our bilnd fangirl selves, we said yes with big smiles on our faces. So we went to KFC to accompany him and since maybe he wanted to gain more fans, he even treated us for dinner. Ok, so during that time, because he did that, we though that we were “close” already. HAHAHA how obnoxious. So that was the first “close moment”. After that, they started saying hi to us on stage and all. You know, typical band strategies to get more fans. But we fell for it-BIG TIME. After a few weeks of gig-ing we also started to beome close with the other members. It was funny since my friend and I planned what we were supposed to say and not to say to them, where we would sit during the gig, what songs we should request and other things like that. Our regular gig-ing really took a lot of our time.

My araby moment only came a few months later. This is when my friend and I started to see the bloomfields treat their other fans just like how they treated us. Just when we thought that we were friends, not fans with them, we started to realize that the way they treat us is also the same way on how they treat their other fans as well. And then during those days, we also heard the news that the band member who treated us at KFC, was only a few weeks away from fatherhood. I mean, we wanted to be like a “barkada” with them but then the truth is, in reality, they are just treating us the way they do because we are their fans. I bet they don’t give a shit about us and I bet that now, after 6 months has passed, the would have probably forgotten our names already. Even though that’s reality, it was really fun while it lasted.

Let me just share a few things that I remember about my life as a prep student.

I came from an all girls school found in this hidden village in Quezon City. It was a pretty good school but not really a popular one. I studied in that school my whole life, hence my loyalty award during graduation, anyway, I had fun in that school. I loved it there- the people, the place and the teachers(most of them, at least). But then I only started enjoying my stay in the school during my grade school and high school years. My prep days were actually very sad.

I was never a friendly person. I never wanted to make the first move ( in making friends) because I was scared of how people would respond. I was scared of being embarrassed. So when I was in prep , I was, what anyone would  pretty much call, a loner. It’s a bit strange since kids my age usually enjoy meeting and playing with other kids. In my case, making friends was just one of the scariest things to do.  It could be that it’s because I’m an only child meaning, I’m not used to interacting with other kids or I was just anti-social. I had a few friends though. Those who introduced themselves to me and those who asked me if I wanted to join them in playing games.  On some days, they would ask me to play and on other days they won’t; leaving me waiting for them to aske me to join them. To all my batchmates who are reading this, yes,it’s true. I was like that for a few years but as the years progressed, I slowly became more and more open to making new friends and trying to be more sociable. Now, I’m not that much of an anti-social anymore. HAHAHAHA

I found about this in the news earlier. When first heard about it, I was like “WTF. I HAVE TO SEE HIM”

Here’s a more detiailed description of what will happen. An article that I read here said that Diego Luna along with Paul Schrader would be guests on the opening night of the 11th cinemanila international film festival 2009 that will be held at Taguig. Cinemanila is a ten-day  film festival that aims to spread the love of foreing ang local cinema both on the independent and mainstream industry. 100 films from 35 different countries will be screened at Market! Market! the fort and  at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. Anyone could watch

I WANT TO. BUT I HAVE SCHOOL! BOO TO EDUCATION =))) joke  I might watch on the first friday of the festival.

Anyway, since the main purpose of this blog post is to share the world how excited I am to see to know that DIEGO LUNA will be going to the Philippines and that the place where he’s going is just a slightly short drive away, I’m going to tell you a bit of the background on how Diego Luna came to be one of my crushes.

Diego luna has been one of my crushes for since 2007. I first saw him in Ytu mama tambien alongside Gael Garcia Bernal who is also may crush HAHAHAHA. After that I saw him in a few more films including fidel, the terminal, dirty dancing and most recently Milk. I haven’t seen much of his mexican films since its hard to find a copy of them  and even a torrents, most of them are hard to find. From what I have seen in the films Diego Luna starred in, I could say that he is one actor that could show versatiliy in his craft. Oh and he’s sexy HAHAHA. Just like me, he’s also a big Tarantino fan.

I found out about this last saturday through a youtube video that Charlyne Yi posted on her youtube.

I was supposed to post the video link on this blog but apparently,Charlyne Yi deleted the video already

anyway, the video was live video of  Charlyne Yi playing her own composition that she made for the person she loved (michael cera) that just recently broke-up with her. She started by playing light chords then she stopped after about 5 seconds and said that the song she made had no lyrics because her love for that person is so strong that it couldn’t be expressed in words. If you see the video, it is really seen that she felt the song (she was humming a melody and her movements were really expressive).The song little by little got faster in tempo. It ended with the typical last 3 strums on her guitar. Then she said that she made that song, hoping that she could win him (michael cera) back.

Some part of me thought that it was super sweet but some part of me thought that Charlyne was probably too desperate. I loved them as a couple though since their pair was really one-of-a-kind. I don’t really know what reason Michael Cera had for breaking-up with Charlyne but he’s old and mature so he probably knows how to make good decisions already. Maybe he has other plans for his future or maybe there’s just no spark in their relationship anymore (which I highly doubt because they have been together a lot since both of them starred in the film paper heart)

I googled what Charlyne Yi said in the video and it led me to numerous articles about the unexpected break-up.

What’s even more pout-inducing is what else Star’s source told the tabloid:

“Charlyne is beyond sad. And the break-up is so much harder because she’ll have to see him on tour.”

Michael Cera, how could you? We know we gave you guff for being a mopey hipster but if we take it all back will you snuggle back up to Yi?

As a whip-smart commenter pointed out a love-affair with between Yi and Cera would have been like a “gummi bear getting it on with the Velveteen Rabbit.” We speculated that a boy with Cera’s sexual persona may in fact not have genitals, just a rainbow colored fleshy patch that sparkles when excited. If this is true, which is likely, then could Cera and Yi ever really have dated?

Whether put-on or physical impossibility, both theories leave room for a Cameron Crowe-style reconciliation. Young geeky outsider chooses to go after a popular beauty but discovers she is shallow and small minded thus forcing him to look in his own backyard. There he sees a girl with unwaxed eyebrows, in sweatpants, strumming a guitar and she embodies beauty in her own independent way. “

it says that Michael Cera broke up with Charlyne Yi and that Charlyne is depressed because of the sudden break-up. But another article I read tells us the complete opposite of the article above.

Yesterday, fans of Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera uttered a collective “Noooooooo!” when Star magazine “reported” that Cera had dumped Yi after three years of dating because he wanted to sow his wild oats (maybe with a girl named Maeby?). There’s just one problem: According to Yi, who’s best known for her role as a stoner in ‘Knocked Up,’ she and Cera have never, ever dated.

That’s right — Moviefone caught up with Yi this morning — and, through bursts of laughter, she had this to say about Cera, who plays her fictional (repeat: fictional) boyfriend in the upcoming documentary-narrative hybrid ‘Paper Heart’: “We weren’t dating at the time [laughs] … or ever. I also heard that we broke up [laughs]. Someone sent me an article that said I was really sad. It says that I’m sad that we’re touring together. But he’s actually in Toronto right now filming a movie called ‘Scott Pilgrim.’ So that’s interesting [laughs].”

Perhaps we couldn’t hear the sound of Yi’s heart breaking over all her laughter, but she sure didn’t seem like someone pining for a lost love. While we can’t condone the gossip rag’s breakup story, we’ll give them a pass for thinking the two were an item in the first place. With Cera and Yi playing versions of themselves who fall in love in ‘Paper Heart,’ it’s easy to see how they got confused.
